Sometimes deceitful people attempt to imitate NV Energy employees – both over the phone and in the community – trying to gain access to your property or information. It is important to be aware of our practices to protect yourself and avoid falling victim to a scam.

When the phone rings…

  • Scammers often use “spoofing” tactics to make the call appear as if it’s coming from NV Energy. Some even use recordings that mimic our automated phone system.
  • Never provide any personal or account information to a caller. Hang up the phone immediately. Call us directly to verify the legitimacy of the call and/or to check the status of your account. When you call, you will be asked to identify some personal information so we can ensure you are the account owner.
  • We may call you as a courtesy. Sometimes you’ll receive a recorded message that is meant to notify you of certain account activity so you can take action to avoid delinquency or disconnection. These calls provide no account specifics, do not request payment, and ask you to call us directly.

We Will:

  • Send you advance notice of a planned disconnection for nonpayment on your bill and via U.S. Mail.
  • Wear NV Energy identification and be able to provide an NV Energy badge upon request. If access is needed to your facilities and cannot be made without your assistance, field employees will attempt to make contact.
  • Schedule appointments for any PowerShift service, including home energy assessments and smart thermostat installations

We Will Not:

  • Ask for or accept payment at your property – there should never be any financial exchange.
  • Use intimidation tactics, like demanding immediate payment to avoid disconnection, by any method, by any method including phone, text message, or email. Accounts that are past due will be notified on their bill and via U.S. Mail of a pending disconnection for nonpayment. If our crews come to your home or business to conduct a disconnection for nonpayment, they may contact you in person first and provide you the opportunity to make a payment by phone. They will also be wearing NV Energy uniforms and driving company vehicles. Field crews will never accept payment in person.
  • Accept payment via Zelle, MoneyPak, Venmo, Bitcoin, or QR Code. Please be aware of our accepted payment methods and authorized payment locations.

Opportunity to reduce energy use

The EPA reports that 30% of energy consumed in buildings is either wasted or inefficiently used. This is reflected by several indicators including the 400% variation in the intensity of energy use across buildings in the US, which is unexplained by age, technology, hours, size, or climate.

There are several reasons for energy waste:

  • Users are not aware where or when energy is being used.
  • Utility bills are a month late, provide little information beyond payment history, and offer no insight into the operation of the building.
  • Building automation systems do not provide the detail or the analysis required to identify and eliminate energy waste.

How the A+ solution works:

  • Audit of current consumption
  • Analysis of real-time data to identify waste in energy use
  • Advice to drive energy savings
  • Achievement of savings
  • Announcement to stakeholders

The Nevada Advantage

  • Award-winning solution
  • Compatibility with all building automation systems (BAS) and utility meters
  • Wide ecosystem of service and channel partners
  • Large database of real-time energy data for benchmarkin

Commercial Real Estate

Reduce operating costs, without sacrificing occupant comfort

Energy spending represents one-third of typical operating budgets in a commercial building. As electricity prices increase in the next 1-2 years (6%  or more predicted by Deloitte), energy expenditures will become more significant.  Asset values are also impacted by energy savings (A 10% savings can increase value by $500,000 for a 200,000 square foot building.) Furthemore, green buildings demonstrate increased rental rates, occupancy premiums and higher occupant productivity (CoStar group study). Key to achieving the benefits from energy reduction is the visibility into your energy cost drivers.

Identify the opportunity to reduce energy spending with real-time monitoring

Noveda’s energy management solutions provide a 360° view of consumption patterns. Leveraging our real-time monitoring data, customers can uncover the source of energy waste and gauge the impact of actions taken to eliminate waste. Waste or inefficiency in energy use can be as much as 30%, according to the EPA.

Real-time monitoring can also be used to optimize water use and prevent water leakage. Water damage is the number one source of property claims for owners of high-rise residences, hotels, office buildings, retail establishments and other commercial structures, according to Zurich North America.

Use real-time data to achieve operational savings for one building or a portfolio of buildings

  • With  customers monitor multiple energy sources (electric, gas, steam, oil, heating, cooling) from one dashboard, adjust settings to  reflect occupancy and weather patterns, avoid demand peaks, and catch billing errors
  •  (Capex Lens) is used to identify energy waste on a load-by-load, or alternatively, on a tenant-by-tenant basis. Customers use the sub-metering with CXL for tenant sub-billing, to track return on capex, and for measurement & verification (M&V) credits for LEED certification.
  •  enables customers to monitor energy consumption across multiple sites from a single dashboard. The information is normalized for variables such as square footage to enable prioritizing of energy efficiency investments, aggregation of  energy consumption across properties to negotiate better pricing.
  •  platform is used to engage tenants of the building in carbon footprint reduction
